Okay, last post from me tonight/this morning, I swear. Was gonna save this for early next week but, Oh my god, SHOES! If you haven’t already, defs check out YouTube phenomenon “Shoes” featuring a BRILLIANT performance by Liam Sullivan as Kelly. Liam has pretty much changed our life! Um, yeah, we impersonate Kelly all day while we’re packing orders here and we TOTES crank up ALL of her songs that we snapped from iTunes. Someone even bought Chris one of Kelly’s BETCH t-shirts for his birthday. Kelly took some time off from her super busy schedule to answer a few questions for us for our new blog, yay!! Happily, she’s so NOT a betch!
How did you get your start?
I was bored in school. I was tired of writing term papers. They’re lame. Teachers always want me to write stuff about old books by dead people. Ten pages about Tess of the D’Urbervilles? I’ll give you two words: IT SUCKS. I don’t need a lot of words to say stuff. Term papers have to be like, ten pages, and you have to have footnotes and bibliography and blah blah blah. Songs are like, half a page. And songs say more to me. They’re much more fun. So I started writing songs instead of term papers and I got bad grades, but I found out what I was good at.
Our office is in love with “Shoes”! What was your inspiration?
This salesgirl once was all, “Your feet are too big, we don’t have your size.” And I was all, “You are a total betch.” Don’t tell me I can’t have a pair of shoes I want!
What do your parents think about your popularity? Do they feel bad that they bought you that purple dinosaur?
My mom says she doesn’t understand my popularity, and my dad says I should be more fiscally responsible or something like that. My dad is always talking about responsibility and crap. My parents live on another planet. But the purple dinosaur is actually a friend now.
What have you been listening to?
I love the Scissor Sisters, Peaches, Rocket, Chicks on Speed, Fannypack, Jay-Z…Rocket is this great band I saw at Spaceland in Silverlake. I’m in love with them right now.
Other than buying shoes, what are you really into these days?
I’m really into making music videos and performing. It’s rad.

HaHa, Liam went to my school, which i live right in front of by the way, so i can totally relate to why he got bored in school, that place is really sketchy. Luckily they’ve re-built it now so it doesn’t look like an insane islylum or a jail anymore. And my sister’s language class and teacher were talking about him the other day and how he went to our school and she had him for a student and stuff like that…i find it sort of hilarious and i love shoes and muffins a whole lot.

I dont know ANYONE who doesnt LOVE “shoes” and “text message break up” and never forget “muffins”! I love them and I cant get enough of Kelly! If my friends and I are ever shopping, we sing “Shoes”. me and some friend discovered this gem a couple of days ago – since then laughing hysterically – we have managed to piss more poeple off than we can count – due to the constant quoting of such awesome brilliant films.
